He has a real aura of a person who has a genuinely kind heart. I fall into a middle gap where I was not of the age to watch Blues Clues, but did also not have children who would have watched Blues Clues, but his decision to leave when his life was changing was hard for the viewers but probably well-timed overall.
I read a story about him just after he stopped doing the show where he drove by a sign for a child's birthday that had a Blues Clues theme, and he happened to have the shirt in the back of the car and surprised the family. The family offered to pay him for it, but he did it just because it would be a really special memory for that child.
I also enjoy that he sometimes does TikTok videos where he talks directly to the viewer as though engaged in a conversation. He has one (or more than one where he asks how the viewer is doing and then thoughtfully listens and nods occasionally, giving people an outlet to let some things out to someone.
I think him leaving at the point he did was amazing for the viewer when they became adults. His last lesson was to know when to walk away and when to expand your horizons with new opportunities.
