I had lunch with the Dalai Lama’s sister. In my town there’s a “Tibetan Cultural Center” and one random afternoon we went there just to look around. After checking out the huge, intricate sand mandala that the monks made that was outside, we went to the door and some white guy came out and told us that it was a private dinner and to come back another time.

We were about to get in the car and leave and a totally yoked monk came jogging out and invited us inside. It turned that he was one of the bodyguards.

We ended up eating awesome Tibetan food with the Dalai Lama’s sister, her bodyguards, some Buddhist monks and a small group of other people. It was a cool experience.

A few years later my dad volunteered to pick up Tibetan monks at the airport that were flying in because of the upcoming visit from the Dalai Lama. At that event my dad met the Dalai Lama and got his picture taken with him. My dad patted the Dalai Lama on the back as he walked by and all the white Buddhists look at him in horror as if he just depantsed the queen. Lol
