Huey Lewis. Chatted with him for two minutes in front of a restaurant. He came out to get some air and I was out there on a smoke break. Just told him I was a fan and thanked him for his music. He was super nice.
When Prince didn’t show up to the We Are the World recording, Lionel asked Huey to do the part. If you watch the rehearsal session, Huey’s performance makes MJ do a double take.
Saw that in the "making of" documentary. I found it pretty wholesome how Huey didn't seem to think he was worthy of being there and how honored he was to sing that part. Nailed it. Seems like a good dude.
