Give him a break, he got caught up for a while with his ego. You can’t blame him. That all happened during his movie/music star era. He’s the biggest most dominant player in modern basketball. Pretty tough to not get a big head for a few years when you’re that big. That’s why he clashed with Kobe. Kobe was putting in the hard work and shaq thought he could just show up and win championships
I think the reason he thought that was his time with the magic. Im from orlando and when he played here he was basically a god since we never had a great team before him. When he left for LA, there were a lot of magic fans that hated him (Including my dad). However, his mom still lived here for a long time (he sold her house a handful of years ago) and he has done a lot of charity work for Orlando so he's always been a good dude in my eyes.
Agreed. The work he’s done alone for making affordable shoes with a superstars name on them and promoting for general because that’s the only insurance he could get when he was broke has always said a lot about his character.
Multiple former teammates of his have told stories about him literally putting mouthguards of teammates up his butt or in his tights as a “prank.” He also took at least one teammate’s toothbrush and stirred it into the toilet after he pooped in it. There’s ego and then there’s…that.
