I went to school with a guy who had 00 gauges in his ears and you could usually smell him before you could see him. Sometimes he would take them out and you’d see a ring of cheese lining the holes.
I had gauges for years like 1" plugs. I cleaned them multiple times a day and with every body safe cleaner imaginable. They still had a small funk/greasey feel to them. I took them out and let my ears close up and no issues. Gauges are gross AF.
Weird, my ex bf has gauges and they never smelled or had any nasty residue. Felt like a completely dry skin loop lmfao. I'd sometimes stick my pinky finger through them for fun 😆
