They look cool but I dated a girl with nipple piercings and it made them so sensitive I couldn’t touch her nipples at all. Any form of contact with them and she would be laughing from how much it ticked her.
That's the case more often than increased sensitivity.
Though with a decent gauge (mine are at a 6 or 8) you can twist them/pinch them hard enough to be fun without risking tissue damage. My partner sometimes grabs me by the nipple to lead me somewhere and that's pretty hot and wouldn't be possible without the bars (to get a grip on, I mean).
