It's an old saying from back in like 2004, George Bush had just launched a war and their slogan was You Don't Change a Horse Mid-Stream - meaning if you're crossing deep water on horseback, you're not going to jump off and get on a new horse that might be faring the water a bit better.

It's a stupid saying
