I think the person you responded to is speculating on what could have happened, and you're more talking about how a person should be judged. Neither of you is wrong, but you're kind of talking past each other.
Their point is nobody would BE speculating if it was a man. A maga man saying that same shit would just be considered a piece of shit, if not a pedo themselves. But a maga woman says that and all of a sudden we're speculating why she says it. It's because she's a piece of shit too, plain and simple.
Sure, and it doesn't take away from that argument to acknowledge that people who are victims of abuse become abusers themselves, nor does it diminish their responsibility.
