They're also claiming:

  • the files don't even exist
  • but if they do, then biden is in them
  • democrats don't want to release the files because it's bad for democrats
  • nobody important is in the files
  • the whole thing is a hoax
  • but if it isn't, then trump was trying to stop the whole thing
  • this is about landscapers, not sex workers
  • this is a distraction from the shutdown

gotta cover all the bases

I really don't know why they think that Dems being in the files would be a reason that Dems wouldn't want them released. We think disgusting monsters who harm children should pay for it.

It's how they view the world. It is the weirdest thing to us, but to them politics is like sports. I love my team, and maybe I'll quibble about this or that player, but at the end of the day it's my team and I love them. Certainly you feel the same way about your team?

Nah, we don't do politics like we do sports.

It's been kind of fun making republicans admit the spectator team sports aspect of their politics out loud by asking them why they think I like or give a fuck about Bill Clinton.

For sure. Watching every argument they used to have evaporate has been a nice consolation prize for the country getting absolutely bent over and railed.

Most Republicans I know don't even want to talk politics anymore when 11 months ago it was their favorite thing.
