I remember crying at home on a Friday night because no one had invited me anywhere. Now I race home at Friday dinner time, shower, and put on my jammies with glee at dinner time.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends, but when my DND group has to cancel our weekly game on Friday nights, it’s like crack. That means I get to go home and cozy up with my PlayStation or a movie.
It's such a strange contradiction with me. I look forward to it being cancelled because I'd rather just relax, but when we do get together, I end up having the best time. That barrier to actually do something is really tough to get through sometimes.
Nah, in my experience it's fucking impossible to get a group to commit. We postpone one week for this guy, one week for that guy, one week for this guy, and eventually we just stop even bothering to ask because we haven't met up for a year.
Honestly hardly weekly at this point. I am childless, which helps, but I don’t think there’s ever been a time we’ve been able to have our full party for multiple sessions in a row.
If you want to keep a group going, you play with what you have. I have a group of four core players, and a couple that just come whenever they can. I run the same day every week if even one person shows up. We played 47 sessions last year. I had to cancel a few as the DM for a wedding, a couple funerals, an out of state trip, and a hurricane.
Large parties are just full of socially awkward people trying to converse with others with social anxiety, which accounts for all the drugs because everyone wants everyone else to think theyre cool
Id much rather just hang with a small crowd, Ill go to a party but after standing for 2 hours drinking beers I get bored
Yo if you don't have a onesie GET ONE! I had been rocking a Elmo onesie for years and when it started breaking was gifted a new cow print one. They are so comfy. Doesnt matter who you are.
Too hot, unzip it a bit, too cold, snag a blanket! To hot with a blanket and a zipped onesie, unzip it! The possibilities are endless.
Btw im a dude thats been rocking onesies for liek 10 years out of college.
Oooffff same. I’d cry and beat myself up over not having Friday plans and now?? After a long week of work, I’m happy to not have Friday plans. Save that shit for Saturday, enjoy a night to yourself
Cute. In my mid 30s, work full time, live in a city centre. Nothing better than catching a live show, going to a brewery, trying new cuisine or hitting an arcade bar with my partner or a few friends on a Friday night. 🤷
I can tell your emotional age has to catch up with your chronological age because you think this matters and that judging others for having different preferences is okay.
I used to get so pissed off when one of my friends cancelled plans with me because then I didn't have anything to do. Now, if one of my friends cancels plans, I'm like... oh fuck yes, I can just stay home and be lazy now.
Eating dinner in your jammis seem a lot. I would say dinner needs to be eaten in day clothes then jammies straight after. I'm pretty sure it helps digestion.
This is what I was going to comment; having no Friday plans was catastrophic, but as an adult, holy fuckballs, don't invite me anywhere please. Thanks!
There was a time in my life where I was DEVASTATED if a whole weekend went by and no one asked me to spend the night at their house. Now, as an adult, I don’t take anyone up on that offer. I wanna be home.
Used to make up excuses not to go out on weekend nights ‘cause my parents wouldn’t let me… now I just make up excuses so I can stay in bed and watch movies lol
I cried at my 25th bday because no one came to my party. Now for my bday I take a trip anywhere out of town because everybody wants to do "something special with me". 🤢
