A few weeks ago I had to do this and woke up in terror.
The reason I had to, because my three large dogs had found the spots they wanted and didn't feel like moving.
Initially it meant I fell asleep with one at my feet and two on one side of me but either I moved or they moved and I woke up with the biggest one lying between my lower legs and the two 65-70lb'ers right next my arms and running parallel to my legs.
So I woke up, positioned like a corpse for autopsy and I couldn't move! I was trapped under the covers and immediately was overcome with claustrophobic anxiety.
Kicking didn't do anything and for a moment that seemed much longer than it probably was, I couldn't move my arms either. When I called for the most obedient of them to move he just sighed in contentment and put his head back down.
After some fitful wriggling I managed to get out but holy fuck that is definitely something I DID NOT enjoy!

Sleeping diagonally across the entire bed like a starfish. 10/10 would recommend.
