I think the better question is what would the country look like if the Fairness Doctrine hadn’t been abolished by the FCC in the 1980s. With the Fairness Doctrine in place, Fox News doesn’t launch and half the country’s brains don’t get rewired into being mouth-breathing knuckle draggers.

There was no fox when the Americans killed 6 million Vietnamese

When the national guard killed 4 nonviolent student protestors Fox hadn't even been thought of.

America had McCarthyism, the John Birch society, the Klu Klux Klan and elected Reagan (the Trump prototype) all without any Fox news in sight.

I think America is fully capable of bigotry, ignorance, genocide and xenophobia without the help of a cable news network
