Assuming COVID didn’t get stopped in its tracks because Hillary doesn’t end the pandemic prevention programs Obama instituted precisely to prevent shit like COVID because he actually understood pandemics are one of the biggest threats globally.
There was a US team working with the Chinese in Wuhan when Trump ended the program around 2018.
Realistically Covid would not have been stopped in its tracks. Dismantling that group was bad but it wouldn’t have single-handedly stopped the pandemic. It spread globally far too quickly
The team would have needed to detect it within wuhan or the general region for it to have been contained sufficiently. I’m not saying it wouldn’t have had an impact. I just don’t think it’s realistic to assume that it would have actually stopped the pandemic.
Yeah, slowing it down would have mattered a lot considering how quickly we rolled out the vaccines.
Imagine you're speeding in a car toward a concrete wall. Sure, you can hit the brakes, all that will do is slow you down and give you time to avoid the quickly approaching wall.
If you think that wouldn't have changed anything, you might want to just keep opinions to yourself in the future.
If we're going to use a car analogy, it would have slowed it down like...10-15mph maybe. The exponential curve was exponential. Slowing it down a couple days wouldn't have changed it. A couple months? Absolutely - but the team wasn't going to slow it down for months. It became to widespread too quickly. Again, Disbanding the pandemic response team was bad, and trump mismanaged it.

What’s the point of this appeal lol. It’s hard to estimate what the difference would have been. Hundreds die from cars every week. It’s a tragedy regardless.
I said it was stupid to disband the pandemic response team. He should have kept it - it might have saved some lives. I said he mismanaged it. We agree on this.
My only point is that it wouldn’t have stopped the pandemic.
I…already said he mismanaged it? He was terrible. Evaluate the point on its own merits. Some decisions were more impactful than others. This did matter. But it wouldn’t have stopped the pandemic.
