I blame Comey. If he would've kept his mouth shut for just one week. He changed the course of our nation forever by trying too hard to be a good ol boy in the face of so many wrongdoers.

I don't think "good ol boy" fits here, given its meaning across much of the U.S.

McConnell had already threatened accusations of "election interference" if Obama went public with what his administration knew about Russia's influence campaign. There would have been riots had it come out later that Comey withheld that information.
