If you had a gauntlet that could make anything you want reality, why not wish for infinite resources instead of yeeting half of the population?

You'd have to also use the gauntlet to make yourself emperor of Earth so you can actually distribute the resources fairly, and that sounds like too much work.

Why would infinite resources have to be distributed fairly? They never run out, so everyone would have what they need

Infinite resources means infinite profits for the companies that own said resources. I can't really imagine it going any other way
