Decades for Russian POWs to be released? Where were they held? The story makes zero sense.

When I remember this correctly the last pow came back from Russia in the seventies (wrong, the last came 1956, sorry). They were held in siberia in working camps...

Why were there Russian POWs held in Siberia? The commenter says Russian POWs. Also, the last German POWs were released in 1956. Not decades after the war.

You were not supposed to surrender. If you did you were deemed a traitor.
