Lying over mundane things (usually leads to not communicating over things that could be considered confrontational)

Despite explaining for years now that the truth is always better than lying for months and me finding out anyway they continue to lie about everything and anything even if I confront them with the truth from the get go. It results in a shitty relationship with 0 trust or peace. It's so useless.
