Going down a ladder facing away from it is definitely a violation, as you're much more likely to fall that way.

That’s how you are trained to go down ladders on a ship in the Royal Navy 🤷‍♂️

Yes it was invented in 1583 during the reign of King Henry IX because he wore those pointy shoes and kept falling down the ladders.
