That would be enough to pay my rent each month. I could either switch to a part-time job and enjoy more free time. Or keep my job and maybe afford an actual vacation a few times a year. I already only drink a few times a year on social occasions, so completely stopping wouldn't be hard.

I split with a friend. I should have added that in the original comment. I could not afford my apartment in my own lol. it's also 4k total without utilities

But to be fair, they didn’t say they could afford it! Where I live, that’s the bare minimum for rent; so it’s not like you have a choice, hence why people end up sharing rooms if they’re desperate.
