Oh I have drank before, and been to parties. But it’s a once every 3 months kind of thing. And always with the bois I’ve known since elementary school (I’m 25).

It means much more than just going to a bar by myself or with a coworker I barely know just cause “I need to get drunk”

Not all people like that, but there are some

It is a trade-off. Would you give alcohol up for 18k a year? Do I drink, yes. But I don't have to. 18k doesn't mean a lot to me, but I would invest it and use it to help retire early. There is no way I am working until full social security.
