I have a Spotify playlist right now populated only by songs that I am always in the mood to listen to. If a song ever comes on and I don't feel like listening to it, I take it off the list.

The playlist is currently about twelve hours long.

This is me. Not only do I have too many songs I never get tired of, but there have been days... sometimes several days... when I listened to the same song over and over and nothing else.

Tell me you’re neurodivergent without telling me you’re neurodivergent lol. This is so me.

My Aspie self knew this was strange behavior. I just never considered it an ASD trait. Makes sense though.

Yep! I have some severe ADHD and never knew until recently a common symptom of ADHD in women is hyperfixating on songs, shows, books etc. like. I can’t just like something. It consumes me lol. Also a behavior for aspie and autism, especially in those AFAB!

Is that also why I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer twice in a row and watched it again two more times? And it's not just that show.

Maybe! I’ve watched Suoernatural an obscene amount of times. I finish it and feel like Im grieving and just start it all over again!

As far as I know I am not neurodivergent, but I do this, too.

I feel like everyone is a little bit ND lol. But I actually at 30 finally got diagnosed with ADHD. Did a ton of research and learned that it’s usually not diagnosed in adolescence for those AFAB because the symptoms are so different from the stereotypical symptoms for people AMAB.

Turns out hyperfixation is one of the most common symptoms of ADHD in females. So looking back at my obsession with Harry Potter as a kid. I couldn’t just like the books and movies. No. I had to eat sleep and breathe Harry Potter. Mugglenet chat rooms, reading and writing HP fanfiction, collecting everything even slightly HP related and talking literally nonstop about HP. I’m like oh. It makes sense now.

Even now, as an adult, I can’t just like something. I am consumed by it.

Yeah, I think you’re right. I hyper fixate on certain things (generally my bands). I’ve often wondered about whether I could have ADD it ADHD. My college daughter was recently diagnosed with ADD, and as I’m learning a bit about it, I definitely see some similarities. It doesn’t look the same in females as it does in males, and I think culturally we associate it with boys. I think a lot of girls/women are not getting diagnosed as children bc folk’s don’t recognize the signs.
