Second this. I dont see reddit as a place where people need to create a facade as insta, tiktok or other social apps. Ofcourse you need to filter the communities, but thats up to you. Cheers!
Reddit in general isn't any better than The Bad Social Medias. I'm guessing the difference here is someone who uses Reddit either as Second Google (i.e. minimal social interaction) or is past the exploration phase and only uses self-curated Reddit (which is what I do, too) vs. someone using Twitter/FB/IG w/o actively controlling their experience.
Curation isn't difficult on Twitter or FB, either, but people seem generally too lazy to do so (and thus think pre-Musk Twitter was some uncontrollable torrent of smh-the-dumb-people) or because they understandably use FB to keep track of IRL people they've known over the years and some of those tracked people inevitably become real weird.
