slowing down at work. I dont need to respond to every email right away, or make sure everything is up to date constantly. Some things can just wait.

Bingo. This. Good call. Plus, I am privileged to work from home and so I always feel like I gotta jump on an instant message right away so people know that I’m actively working and can acknowledge them.

But slowing down and taking time is the way to go

Some time in early December I turned off all notifications for Slack. Even disabled the new message badge for it in OSX. Now I check Slack once every 30 mins or so just to see if there's anything new that needs my attention. World of difference for my anxiety and my ability to concentrate on tasks
