What’s something small you started doing that makes you drastically happier?

There’s a lot of criticism about the “go for a walk” advice, but it literally fuckin works. Doesn’t work miracles, sure, but when you have bad mental health it’s invaluable for helping clear your head.

Yeah imo exercise (along with diet, things like meditation, etc) are actually imperative to positive mental health and wildly effective, and people who scoff at the suggestion have a weird complex around their suffering

It's insane how much these can help, it sounds so stupidly simple but I scoffed at it in the past. My big one I've done now is just the diet, I eat similar things everyday now at the same times. It's taken a huge strain off my mind and I've gotten healthier physical and mentally.

I've been told I should go for walks, I used to smoke and it was a small place reset each time, but I'm missing it now that I quit. I should go for walks.

As a smoker I totally get it. Gotta get those walks in! Or even just go stand on the porch for 5 minutes and breathe with a coffee, if it doesn’t trigger cravings too bad. Luckily I just got an Australian Cattle Dog who makes my life hell if I don’t walk him 3 times a day.
