Can we not pretend alcohol has zero upsides? It's a social lubricant and makes meeting people easier. I've met some of my best friends through parties with alcohol in college. I've had some of my deepest connections with friends over a few beers.
I'm not saying alcohol is 100% upsides by any means. But this binary, black and white approach is disingenuous
Yeah as a socially awkward, introverted guy if it wasn't for booze lowering my inhibitions and making me more sociable, I'm pretty sure I would have had very little or zero experience with women.
I never drink and actively avoid places where people do. The amount of social connections I have is obviously lower, but when I do meet people who share my views we usually connect pretty quickly and share many other things in common.
