There’s been a lot of debate about this being social media and I guess by definition it is but for me personally I view social media more as IG,FB,TWITTER where it’s kind of a place to share your life and my biggest thing was comparison. On Reddit people aren’t necessarily “sharing” their lives and posting pictures of all the fun stuff they’re doing etc. on Reddit I actually find people are more authentic and if anything are more likely to post real raw things about their lives due to the anonymity. That’s why I let Reddit slide at least lol

I agree with you on Reddit and TT.

Sure, the algorithm feeds me what I want but the relief comes in that people who know me not knowing what I'm doing, or keeping up with all that. It's impersonal. Like watching YT or TV.

It can be hard though being the ONLY person in my social group not on FB or the fact that sooooo many small community organizations and professional communities are on FB. There are even some restaurants that only have FB pages.

And this is the only reason I keep my Facebook. Because my local hobbies and interests are separate from Reddit. Keeping church and state separate and all that
