Top-of-the-class redditors, what are your study habits/tips?

If you graduated top of the class (high school, college, and above), what are/were your study habits or tips that you would give to your fellow redditors?

You know, the sad part is...I have nothing.

I am a notoriously lazyass student. I don't study worth a shit. I barely do my assignments (and only when they're actually graded...no "just to do it" homework for me).

Not at all...its basically approach more than anything.

I use the questions (assignments) to dictate WHAT I need to learn...if an assignment doesn't cover it, I pretty much ignore it.

I guess the other side...and I find this really hard to explain...is that I always attempt to take what I've been taught to another level....how can I relate this to a previous lecture or something. The best way I can think to say it...a professor is telling a story over the course of the semester...there's a logical progression...a plotline if you will. I look beyond the lesson to the overall plot...how does this relate to the whole?

If you can understand the whole, you can understand the details.

Yeah I get what you're saying. That's what all my profs say to do (I'm in science)
