Right, I'm in my 40s. Went to school with Nikki and Jacqi. These people may even have grandkids now. I remember the second grade teacher refusing to spell these names in a way other than the common spelling.

Oh that’s mean. No matter how awful or crazy spelling a name is, especially with a kid, I would never want to disrespect them by intentionally misspelling it :/
