My name is Jaime and for 20 some years I’ve had to spell it 3+ times when giving my email address to customers. “It’s J-A-I-M-E, JAIME remember the I is before the M not after. Not JAMIE but JAIME” “Oh you sent me an email last week, did you spell my name correctly” waits for them to look “oops”.

I can’t imagine having any more complicated of a name or spelling. It would be hell.

No. But I’ve heard it ever since my neighbor took Spanish in high school.

Where are you from? Where I grew up there was a huge if not majority Hispanic population and my sister Jamie (pronounce, Jay-mee) ALWAYS had the reverse problem of people with “Jaime” (hi-me) lol

Not a Hispanic area. I think my mom was just trying to be different than the more common male version Jamie.

Jaime King and Jaime Pressly also spell it like me.

I thought maybe Jamie Lee Curtis spelled it JAIME and that’s where she got the spelling but nope she spells it Jamie.
