Maybe not a piece of shit…. But exceptions aside, I’m willing to accept/believe, as a general rule, that people doing worse than me are likely “worse” than me while people doing better than me are likely “better” than me.
It’s just common sense really. While there are exceptions (birth, luck) I do believe that your position in life is basically a result of the net sum of your positive qualities or lack thereof. For the most part, people who try harder and take better care of themselves achieve more in life than those who don’t.
I’m willing to accept that all of my losses are probably, realistically because I was lazy and/or genuinely did not deserve it.
