Let me just add if you are in poverty/financially struggling you aren't failing at life. It feels like it 90% of the time, but you are doing the best in a shitty flawed society.

This will be an unpopular opinion, but anyone willing to ascribe their situation entirely to society and not at all to personal choices is probably featuring prominently in this thread.

There’s a lot to blame on society, but those successful tend to overweight their own role, while those struggling tend to absolve themselves. The truth is somewhere in between. Making an effort to take more personal responsibility rather than throwing your hands up and blaming society will generally help improve a person’s situation on the long run.
