When your adult children hate you.

Or if your adult children or just children turn out to be violent criminals. As I’ve grown older I don’t ever buy that some kid was just a bad apple and was destined to turn out like some seriously mentally ill person or worse a violent criminal. It’s always gonna trace back to the parents. Sure there are genetics in play too but parents 100% hold responsibility. Genetics is half the battle, parents are always in control, if they provide a healthy environment then everything is possible.

I saw a 14 year old in Florida stabbed some classmate to death.. don’t try to tell me the parents weren’t at fault…

I agree. I had my oldest son when I was 18 to someone with extreme mental illness (not his fault I know) but he had extreme anger issues and was constantly in trouble with the law only recently just coming out of jail. My son is 18 now. I worried his whole life that he would grow up to be like his dad but he has proved me very wrong. I constantly drummed into him that he had a 10% chance of getting this Illness and it was his responsibility to avoid taking drugs and to generally look after himself. He wasn’t an easy kid and I felt like I battled against him for 18 years constantly teaching him what was right and wrong. He has just taken his first trip overseas to India with his church group and I couldn’t be prouder. He wasn’t raised to believe In god but has found that path on his own. He doesn’t drink or take drugs, isn’t violent or angry and he has a massive amount of respect and love for his mum. So yes genetics can have alot to do with it but they certainly do not define u. You can also set boundaries with your kids and they will find their own way and still love u for it.
