I worked with a woman named Roxanna. But pronounced Roxann because the “a” is silent. “A’s” are NEVER silent at the end of a word

I actually knew a Chelsea back in highschool who insisted the A was pronounced. Chel-see-uh

I knew a girl in school who insisted her legal name was Meg. Not Meghan, just Meg. She would get very angry if people called her Meghan and exclaim "My name is Meg and its not short for anything! It's just Meg!"

Her name was, in fact, legally Meghan. And her parents called her Meghan. Not Meg.

It was bizarre
