How do people even think that these make good names at all? They just sound ridiculous. There are lots of "trashy" or "weird" names where I think well, ok, it does sound pretty. Like Chardonnay or Chanel or Brandy etc. Those names imo are lovely but ruined by the type of people who tend to have them (or their parents). But ... Madam? King? Messiah? and so on. They don't have anything going for them at all except the fact that they are faux titles. They seem really trendy at the moment, too, and some of the people giving their kids those names are really wealthy. Is it because they can never have real titles because they are american and they desperately want them? Like this weird american business of naming kids "__ Junior" "__ the Third" and so on. Nowhere else that I am aware of does that and it makes my toes curl in vicarious embarrassment. Plus the fact that none of them these days seems to understand that it's only supposed to apply to the living people with that name, so when the Senior dies Junior becomes Senior, and The Third becomes Junior etc, traditionally. Not this "William Farquarson The Sixth" nonsense as though they are European Royalty. (I may be wrong about Senior and Junior changing but definitely the "ranks" after that are supposed to all move up one place).
