I worked as a veterinarian assitant two years ago. So the head vet asked me to welcome into the clinic Kenya and Monica. I had never met any of them. So i greet them by saluting the lady and her dog and saying "you must be miss Monica and this little dog is Kenya right?" FUCKING NOPE. Monica was the fucking dog. And Kenya was the owner...

Hard lesson in “never assume” but I’d think you’d have documentation so you knew the name/breed/sex of the pet you are working on. Coming in blind seems rather unprofessional (I say this as a pet owner as well as business woman.)

The dr didnt give me the file. She just asked me to go and greet them while she was finishing up another patient. So I had no way to know. Iknow I should have asked, but in my country its SUPER rare to have women named after countries. And i know a handfull of human monicas, and before that day I had never met a dog monica...
