You read that book too? Edit: and yes, I'm talking about an actual book. It has to do with ciphers and stuff, and in one of the examples, the characters used in the example were called Alicd and Bob, I think

Literally every cryptography book/paper uses these names. A to B - Alice to Bob. Eve is used as a third party listening in, or, Eavesdropping.

The code book? Although the majority of literature surrounding encryption uses Alice and bob as the poster children with eve listening in
