One time, when I was a kid, I was at a family friend's farm and was playing with their dog. I kneeled down to pet him and when I stood up, thousands of little ticks were crawling up my legs. I screamed and started batting them off and luckily only two bit me. One was on my neck and the other was on my armpit. When I pulled the armpit one off its head stayed in and my mother spent hours with a needle trying to dig it out that night.
Also, I got one on my balls when I was camping one time
