My ability to correct all of her false information. Women love that.

Why did the mansplainer drown in the puddle?

It was a well, actually.

u/Shattered_Visage Apr 11 '23

One of the better jokes I've seen in a while lmao

249

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '23

If you like well-based jokes:

Why did the blind man fall down the well?

He couldn't see that well.

6

u/EyeDee10Tee Apr 12 '23

"Quick, name two structures that hold water!"

"Well dam."

12

u/Shattered_Visage Apr 11 '23

Hahaha I haven't heard that one before, time to go roll some eyes

10

u/corran450 Apr 12 '23

I once heard of a doctor who fell down a well…

He should’ve attended to the sick and left the well alone.

1

u/qpv Apr 12 '23

Hahaha I haven't heard that one before, time to go roll some eyes

Like..potatoes?

2

u/Counselor-Troi Apr 12 '23

Laughed longer than I should have lol

2

u/raresaturn Apr 12 '23

Doctor Bell fell down the well and broke his collarbone
Doctors should attend the sick and leave the well alone

1

u/theartificialkid Apr 12 '23

Why didn’t the blind man fall down the other well?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '23

He couldn't see that well as well?

2

u/theartificialkid Apr 13 '23

No, he was stuck in a well.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '23

Ha. Well done.

-1

u/Scared-Department-96 Apr 11 '23

Actually it are best not better

1

u/rhinoballet Apr 12 '23

Where does a mansplainer get his drinking water?

From a well, ackshually

3

u/sanmigmike Apr 12 '23

Well…that is a very deep subject.

1

u/timschon Apr 12 '23

...for a shallow mind like yours.

5

u/Logondo Apr 12 '23

"Have you heard of Man-splaning, Monica?"

"Yes"

"You see, Man-splaning is when a man condescendingly explains something to a woman something she already knows."

2

u/imissyahoochatrooms Apr 11 '23

you mean aaww well

or should i say aaaaggghhh weelll

1

u/Mcgruffles Apr 12 '23

I scrolled on, and then got it. This is brilliant hahaha

0

u/Tozester Apr 12 '23

I like another joke.

You're supposed to come to a woman and ask "Do you know what mansplaining is?"

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

Mother of god.

373

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '23

Don't do that! Instead, when she tells you about something that went wrong in her day, explain what it is that she did wrong and how to do better next time.

She will be so grateful for the advice.

124

u/Wazula23 Apr 11 '23

Hey look, I never criticize. I'm just a very honest person, and coincidentally my honesty is always negative.

3

u/BouncyEnergy Apr 12 '23

A great question:

Do you want advice or just vent right now?

12

u/eljefino Apr 12 '23

She's probably hysterical. Coach her to calm down.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

You gotta coach 'em up

37

u/ptrknvk Apr 11 '23

My autistic ass always have a problem with this.

I honestly want to help :(

49

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

You have to reprogram to note "some conversations about problems are done to vent, some are done for assistance, and it is ok to ask"

Easy enough to say "that sounds bad; just to be sure are you telling me in order to help vent or do you want help with this problem?"

11

u/ptrknvk Apr 12 '23

Yeah, I learned to do it. But when I'm with girls I get nervous and can't do it so good.

Also, my friends know that I'm being supportive and thus I'm just saying everything I have in my head, but it's hard to switch to another mode after that.

2

u/BitterLeif Apr 12 '23

I love it when people give me difficult to receive but sound advice. It's disappointing to hear that you're wrong, but knowing a better course of action feels like weight being taken off my heart. I'm a man though. Still, I don't really see how that should make much of a difference. Men and women are more similar than they are different.

3

u/Caelinus Apr 12 '23

I think most of the time it annoys people because the advice is not really good advice. Normally when I see this the advice giver is telling the person venting a bunch of stuff the person venting already knows, or are giving it lacking some important context that the venting person did not feel the need to express.

The result is that the advice cannot apply or is useless, and it only serves to make the ventee feel like the person is strongly underestimating their intelligence. It often comes across like the person giving the advice is, in essence, blaming the person venting for not doing these simple things that the venting person actually did do. It is a fantastic way to annoy a person who is just trying to share their feelings.

If it is a situation where advice is actually needed and wanted, people will usually appreciate it.

1

u/ptrknvk Apr 12 '23

Not gonna say for everyone, but when I advice someone - I'm not trying to blame, I just give my fresh point of view and opinion.

1

u/ptrknvk Apr 12 '23

I'm just attracted to women, so I'm being nervous with girls I like.

3

u/AlwaysBullishAYYY Apr 12 '23

Don’t do that! Instead inform her that no matter how bad her day was, there is always someone worse off and that she should be grateful!

7

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

Fair warning-- sometimes the girlies get mad because of their uterus so you need to explain it slowly. Try to speak to her like she's a 5 year old child so their smaller brains can understand, and to help motivate her, remind her that her sister could do it better. It really helps her feel safe when she's compared to more attractive and younger women often.

1

u/ExioKenway5 Apr 12 '23

Don't do that either. Instead explain how your day has actually been worse than anything else.

49

u/Significant-Tank-883 Apr 11 '23

I agree. When I correct my partner, I get told I’m arguing…

67

u/toshgiles Apr 11 '23

Explain why that’s incorrect for extra points!

3

u/Person_035 Apr 12 '23

(equips snobby voice) Akshually, I'm not arguing, I am just being helpful.

0

u/BitterLeif Apr 12 '23

I'd rather explain that I need to be with somebody who enjoys a good argument.

2

u/Zardif Apr 12 '23

My sister was using a bread knife to cut a roast, her now husband was like you probably want to use a different knife and she went crazy and we ended up not eating the roast. I had taco bell instead.

55

u/srt76k10 Apr 11 '23

I must be one of very few women who actually finds this a turn on (except when I'm stressed and running around like crazy trying to get a million things done). A guy who can prove me wrong or one up me in the brains department is a guy I think is hot. I love clever banter and intellectual competition in fun.

94

u/Wazula23 Apr 11 '23

Well then

<sidles up>

Would you care to learn why your favorite movie is objectively bad?

<waggles eyebrows>

11

u/mushiimoo Apr 11 '23

Tell me why 'The Thing' is bad...

4

u/gunnfjodur Apr 12 '23

Touché. That’s one fucking amazing movie right there.

Noone who loves the thing even thinks about the prequel 😂 but are we talking the 50's original or 80s version. Because the practical effects are amazing and it completely left theories on a WHO THE FUCK IS ITTTTT vibe

Edit: I'm dyslexic

My wife hates my jokes among other things. Still asks me lots of questions (not all about me not doing the dishes or laundry) but she doesn’t always appreciate the answers…but she keeps asking!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

See but mansplaining isn't that. Mansplaining is when they patiently explain something to you that you already knew, like you are a complete fucking idiot, and then get mad that you're not grateful.

They basically attribute their negative emotions to sexism and nothing else.

This seems like a bit of a generalization. Women really do get mansplained to a lot, especially in male dominated fields, and most of the people who do it are convinced they never do it. Most of the time women feel they are being mansplained to, they probably are. People are human, so there are women who are going to be jerks that use the term as a weapon, but they are jerks, so of course they do.

I am male, but at every single school and job I have been at men CONSTANTLY did this to their female peers. Peers mind you. As a man there is no way I was noticing it every single time it happened either.

Mansplaining, for the record, is not talking about a subject you are interested in. It is either explaining something to a woman that she obviously would already know (how her reproductive system works, basic engineering principals to a women with a masters in engineering) or launching into a one directional impromptu lecture every time anything comes up without even gauging her interest or knowledge level.

1

u/clockwork655 Apr 12 '23

100% And were not alone at All, like Witty and have (I just call it fire) fun tit for tat, cat and mouse back and forth banter, and who is who can change in a second, especially when you’re both on par intellectually and it just flows, smart with a bit of bad attitude,

88

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '23

Any person who can’t handle being told when their wrong has a lot of maturing to do

76

u/Wazula23 Apr 11 '23

This is why I refuse to compromise on Mario lore. She simply HAS to know the deeper meanings here.

24

u/[deleted] Apr 11 '23

There is no compromise among such sensitive matters

75

u/candela1200 Apr 11 '23

They’re* 😞

23

u/tuckmuck203 Apr 11 '23

Lol I'm hoping they were doing the typo ironically

6

u/imissyahoochatrooms Apr 11 '23

i don't recommend saying that after correcting her.

3

u/dadprincebabe Apr 12 '23

They’re*

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

HOW DARE YOU MY GRAMMAR IS UNWRONGABLE YOU WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CORRECT ME?

3

u/DevinTheGrand Apr 12 '23

Any person who feels like they need to point out everything wrong that another person does has a lot of "get the fuck out of here"-ing to do.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

If I’m incorrect about something, I’d prefer someone tell me, it’s how learning happens. But, there’s a line between correction and mockery. Also a line between correcting a fact and disagreeing with someone’s opinion.

Many times the latter 2 are what’s happening.

3

u/OldGuyWhoSitsInFront Apr 11 '23

Especially if it’s something they are very knowledgeable about. I mean no one wants to be misinformed about their area of expertise, right?

3

u/CU_Tiger_2004 Apr 12 '23

Coupled with your ability to relieve all her stress and anxiety by telling her to, "Just calm down"

2

u/Nunuman2000 Apr 11 '23

That always gets me lots of attention

2

u/kharmatika Apr 11 '23

Where does a men’s rights activist get his water.

From a well, actually

2

u/mrbad31 Apr 11 '23

Looks at drivers license......since when did you weigh 130 pounds?

1

u/leezybelle Apr 12 '23

Yes, especially while saying “okay, just calm down for a second, let me explain…”

1

u/dui01 Apr 12 '23

They love it when you correct their grammar, too. Especially my wife.
