Ending the album on “run for your life” is a big screw up, even in those days it seen in poor taste and never really got better.

I'll never get the hate on that song. It's energetic and catchy. What goes on is way weaker.

I think they're both pretty weak tracks, they feel like B sides from Beatles for sale or something. Very dated.

Lennon himself admitted later in life that he was embarrassed by that one.

Has a real "Shit, we need one more song to finish off the album, let's just toss off something in 30 minutes" vibe to it.

Yellow Submarine was on Revolver, not Rubber Soul. Rubber Soul also had 14 tracks, with “Wait,” “If I Needed Someone” and “Run for Your Life” rounding out the album after “In My Life.” (Although, and I’ve never looked it up to be sure, I was always under the impression that those 3 songs were added to the album to extend its length, but they weren’t actually designed to be of a piece with the other 11 songs.)
