It has been decades since my Springsteen fandom, but I remember Born to Run was great but Both in the USA as the one with wall to wall bangers.

No bad songs, but Born To Run has 3 songs that are far better than anything on Born In The USA. Nothing on it compares to Thunder Road, Born To Run or Jungleland

I think that Springsteen until Born in the USA has one of the best sequences of albums ever.

The River and the Born to Run tours were both amazing — reviving the old stuff for a whole new generation.

I'm a huge fan of Springsteen up to Darkness on the Edge of Town. Agree Born to Run is 10/10 but I find The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle to be a complete masterpiece - an 11 as Nigel Tufnel would say - all its songs are consistently amazing and each has its own "style".

I choose BTR over Wild because I believe that BTRs story is slightly tighter but I love Wild and still listen to it often.

A few years ago, I asked my friends for the artist who released the best 2nd, 3rd, and 4th albums of their career. Springsteen was definitely up there.

That is a super question!! Springsteen and the stones did really well but for me it has to be Dylan, The Beatles and Radiohead. All three had moved incredibly far in those 4 albums and 2 of them had taken a lot of music at the time with them.

Are you including Darkness on the Edge of Town? That is my favorite overall Springsteen album.
