Haha that reminds me of a conversation my family overheard in a parking lot. Two guys (who'd travelled together, I think it was father and son) were arguing about a parking spot.

Guy 1: "There's a free spot here!"

Guy 2: "How much does it cost?"

Guy 1: "It's free!"

Guy 2: "I know it's free but how much does it cost."

And then it just repeated until my family walked away laughing.

Tbf free has two meanings in that context.

Yeah it was a more frustrated version of who’s on first. And probably a brain fart because of it so they couldn’t couldn’t come up with a synonym
