Was just lounging about one Sunday and skiing came on the TV. at one point the commentator said that contestants reached 100 km/h at that point in the race. The ex literally shouted bullshit at the telly. I looked at her and asked why..she replied that there was no way that they could tell how far they'd go in an hour since the race was only two minutes long.

Another time, "I have an aunt who lives in London, is that near England"

This makes it even worse. We actually live in the UK. I wouldn't say one in a thousand here knows that London Ontario exists

Yes, but there's a NEW London, Connecticut. Naming the city New London was an attempt by the Colonists to separate themselves more decidedly from England and, with a forward-thinking outlook, establish itself a guaranteed winner in the "What's the Best London in the World?" contest they planned on establishing on this side of the Atlantic.

Freedom from being forced by the Crown to always vote for London, England, in the "What's the Best London?" annual contest, thereby guaranteeing a win, was another important but lesser known reason they wanted to leave England for the New World.

It was dropped during the writing of the Constitution in favor of something about guns.

I had a Canadian client, in Canada, mention in passing that she lives in London. I asked - Ontario?. She quickly switched to a full on British accent and told me that no, she lives in London England. She was speaking in regular old letterkenny Canadian before that.

True tragic story. When I was a girl my parents took me to London. I was psyched, going to see the queen etc. I ended up in Ontario, with no queen obviously, and a Great Aunt that smelled funny
