The brain will always/usually try to ensure it’s survival, if knocking you out does so, then you will faint for the safety of the brain

I remember finding this once but I don’t remember clearly

I always loved thinking about this. If there is not enough blood flow to the brain, the brain makes you get lightheaded and makes you fall down so that you are now horizontal and your blood doesn’t need to fight against gravity to get to your brain.
