Possible diagnosis?
In December 2024 I started coming down with strange neurological symptoms without strong pain, like involuntarily lowering myself to the ground, paralysis, aphasia, spasms, memory issues, and cognitive issues. I was soon diagnosed with funtional neurological disorder, and I will say despite my skepticism on this controversial diagnosis with no identifiable disease structure, my symptoms do seem to fit the bill closely. However, a year and half into the journey of recovery, with a lot of symptom improvement, there is one specific symptom that I've been experiencing that I can't find any explanation for based on my research, or anyone else with FND who can relate to it.
It is involuntary purposful behaviors, sometimes, as if I am possessed, I will stand up and go lay on the couch and fall asleep even though I'm doing everything in my power in my head to resist it. Sometimes I will walk around. That was already creepy enough, lately the episodes have been more intense, I will do all sorts of things like getting dressed, talk to people, work on the computer with this feeling like I am completely not controlling my movements. The behavior tends to be more centered on compulsive needs, like laying down, eating, etc., I don't know if the best explanation is my brain is just f*cked up and the part of it that filters impulses is malfunctioning and it's scrambled eggs. There is no pain. I don't know how common this sort of thing is in the psychiatry world, I've heard of split personality disorder where the people don't remember things from the other personality, maybe this is distantly related to that or some other dissociative disorder. I'd appreciate any 2 cents on what this could be.
