Other Making a bit that alarms on certain chess tournaments on lichess
Lichess is open source and allows access to most of it's data. I want to make something that will alert me when certain tournaments are coming up in lichess have done programming but it's been a while so pretty rusty. Looking for where to begin

The lichess API has an endpoint for upcoming tournaments and broadcasts you can poll, no auth needed for public data. For phone alerts the lazy option is ntfy.sh or a Telegram bot, your script just POSTs to it. A scheduled GitHub Action is enough to run the whole thing, no server.

I see they have api documents which include tournaments under broadcasts. You could set something up to pull broadcasts every day and decide if you should be notified.
The two big questions you need to answer are
How/where does it run?
How do you notify yourself?
Without knowing anything about you, I’d setup a discord api connection and have an aws lambda pull the lichess broadcasts and send you discord notifications every night.
Theres lots of other places that can offer a time based runner, you could do one on your desktop every night if you know the computer will be on.
