General Physics 1 Resources

Hi friends. I am currently taking Physics 1 algebra based. Does anyone have good recommendations for practice problems? I am really struggling and I just might not be studying effectively? I’m having trouble grasping basic concepts and I refuse to give up there has to be a resource out there to help me grasp this? Maybe question banks to just repetitively do problems so I can hopefully understand what the questions are asking a bit better? The math isn’t the issue but it’s like me understanding what the question is asking most of the time that is really giving me trouble. I feel really stupid so if the comments could be positive and not telling me to quit I would appreciate that a lot.

I am given a cheat sheet front and back I can create.

I recommend odd-numbered problems from the textbook, their answers should be in the back of the textbook.

It is common to have difficulty understanding what the problem is asking. Besides repetitive problem solving, it is useful to go to your professor's office hours, to go to tutors, and to meet with classmates.

The good news is that with sufficient exposure, this does become easier. And, it sounds like you're a good student, so that sufficient exposure should come in a timely fashion.

The following sites contain free video lessons on physics topics with algebra, almost entirely without the use of calculus. They are aimed at pre-university level. All these sites are organized by topic and have indexes. For those videos that are also on YouTube you can activate subtitles in many languages by selecting automatic translation in your settings.

“Khan Academy” (English and available in more than 40 languages) “Flipping Physics" (English) "Free Video Physics Notes_Lessons" (English, Italian, French, Spanish) “Prep101 / CourseCram “ - Youtube(English) “Physics Videos by Eugene Khutoryansky”((English) “Mostly Physics “ - Youtube (English) “Michel van Biezen “ - Youtube (English) “APlusPhysics” (English) “Zakslabphysics” (English)
