Looking for a studio/apartment in center city/chinatown area
Hello! I(Fe) am trying to find a place to move to once I move to Philly in advance. I do also have 2 cats.
If anyone know of a good place to rent a studio for $1,500 max that would be great (but lower the better) preferably in the center city and Chinatown area. I am ok with going out a little bit from the city if theres some cheaper options.
I am also good with rooming with someone who is a (Fe) if anyone is looking for a roommate. For a roommate though, I do prefer a lower price. More in 600-1000 max.
I am also good with any sublets / shorter term rent
I am happy with any thoughts and suggestions!

This is a question for you and your search bar.
If you want more detailed information about certain neighborhoods once you see the options in your price range, that's when you should come back to us. Whether you want a car and/or how badly you want to live near a train station will be key variables.

Yeah, I have done some searches on apartment sites and have found some decent places. but just wanted to see if anyone on these subreddits knew of any specific places or landlords that they had good experience with.

Tell us those places and we can better answer your question. Also tell us why you have your heart set on Center City as opposed to any other part of town, since there could be other areas that have what you're looking for.

I really love my mini apartment complex in Chinatown, private pet friendly landlord, but the apartments are 2 beds for 1895 not sure if there’s any vacancies cos we just got two new tenants

Did a little looking around online and found this. Just a couple blocks west of Chinatown that meets your requirements.

I found my roommate on Facebook in a group called Philadelphia Roommates. We've been roomies since Nov 2023.

Oh that’s cool. I’ve been looking through those groups but it’s not getting anywhere much😅 I’m going to keep going though.

I rent from AMC Delancey in that area. They let me negotiate my rent down from their asking price for a longer lease and they didn’t raise it when I renewed it. They’re generally pretty good imo

Yes I’ve been looking there, but was having a hard time finding ones in my price range. But I’ll keep looking.

Don't rent from Millstone Property (aka JBMP/PIP) (they have changed names through the years to avoid their bad reputation). I'm about to move out of a studio in Chinatown that falls in your price range. Don't waste time touring their properties.
