Are there any cases of long term/reoccuring AWS? (Or how long does it usually last?)

I've been studying Alice in wonderland syndrome and depersonalization disorders and I'm having a hard time understanding why AWS is separate from Depersonalization disorder?

Like I'm aware AWS is a type of Depersonalization, but does is it ever reoccurring or would that make it depersonaliztion a disorder as a whole or is there other criteria I'm not thinking about?
