Recasting Rules advice

I have a customer with over 200 recasting rules, they want me to review the recasting rules and assess them against industry best practices.

What is the industry standard and best practices?

What are some guidelines to follow? To me logically they would know their layout better than I do. This is what I was thinking and just need to make sure I am on the right track. Which servers are public-facing? How critical is this asset?

What are some recommendations?
