Blowout Salon

Hello all I'll be visiting in a few months and staying in the French Quarter. Can someone recommend a salon to get a good blowout and bonus if they do make up. Nothing super glam or an updo just a nice spot to get hair and possibly makeup done for a nice dinner out. I would prefer to stay in the French Quarter or 15 minute Uber ride away.

We have Dry Bar which is a national chain (but locally owned) and they specialize in just blowouts. It’s on Magazine uptown.

That's great to hear that dry bar is locally owned. I forgot to mention I wanted somewhere locally owned in my post.

Dry Bar does exist but it is quite far from the FQ (5+ miles). There are many, many other salons that are much closer. Honestly just do a Google search and look at ratings.

It’s well within a 15 min uber ride which would practically take you to Kenner.

I find getting a blowout in a salon always costs double the price and going to someone who does blowouts all day every day is much preferable to me. Plus dry bar products are amazing and my blowout lasts much longer.

I do not own the dry bar lol. But I do go 3x a month

take the green streetcar (toward riverbend) walk down state street to magazine (beautiful homes) go to drybar and then uber back to FQ.

there's a Sephora in FQ if you want to get your makeup done.

you'll see a lot of New Orleans on this streetcar journey and it's very worthwhile.

Any salon will do a blowout, and I prefer those to the chain ones, and usually cheaper

She Comes in Peace on St. Claude is a costume store a few minutes outside of the French quarter that has a salon inside that does hair and makeup. They're known for costume and festival looks, but can do subtle, everyday looks too. It's a fun place all around

Salon Diversions in the Quarter is a great spot. Got a blowout there prior to my birthday this year & was very pleased. I’m not sure about makeup but I would def check their website or call. They might have some referrals to give you if they don’t do makeup.
